A Message from the SupervisorSpring is Coming!
Soon the signs of spring will surely appear and everyone will get the urge for that annual tradition of spring cleanup. Myself and the Cochecton Town Board would like to inform all our residents that Spring Cleanup Days will be held on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th. The location will be by the Old Town Hall and Highway Department located at 116 County Road 116. It will be opened from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day. Acceptable items are Household Junk, Paint or Tar cans must be empty and dry, Bulky waste (furniture, mattresses, carpets, etc.) Iron pipes must be cut to 4 foot lengths. Drums and tanks must be empty and cut opened or crushed. Absolutely NO commercial dumping, NO TIRES, No yard waste, full paint cans, petroleum products, pesticides or hazardous wastes or propane tanks. No household garbage, computer monitors, television sets or fluorescent bulbs are accepted.
We are also working on the completion of the Community Room in the basement of the New Town Hall. When completed, it will be used for our seniors Nutrition Program and for our local clubs and organizations to conduct meetings and other activities. So keep checking in and we will keep you up to date on our progress on this project and other happenings in our community.
