Please take notice that the Town of Cochecton Planning Board, Sullivan County, New York State will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on September 30th, 2021 at the Town Hall located 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington, New York 12752 for the purpose of considering the application of a minor (2) lot subdivision (SBL; 19-1-11.9) located on Mohn Road, Town of Cochecton by John Battaglia.  The real property is zoned in the Agricultural Conservation District.  The Public is invited to attend in person (wearing facial coverings & practicing social distancing).

Ice Control Sand Bids – Sealed Bids Due September 7, 2021

LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE TO BIDDERS

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Cochecton, Sullivan County, NY will receive sealed bids for the delivered price for ice control sand to the Town Highway Garage in Lake Huntington, New York, from September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022, as required. The ice control sand must be natural brown sand and must otherwise at minimum meet Sullivan County minimum requirements, all as fully described in Bid Specifications available from the Town of Cochecton Highway Superintendent and delivered to Cochecton Highway Garage. Each bidder must present documentation of Sullivan County specifications and analysis report on product to be delivered.

Bids will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. on September 7, 2021 and they will be opened at 7:30 p.m., September 8, 2021 at the regular Town Board meeting at the Town Hall located at 74 Smales Rd., Lake Huntington, NY 12752.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “sand bid” addressed to Town Clerk, Town of Cochecton, PO Box 295, Lake Huntington, NY 12752 and must bear on the face thereof the name and address or the bidder.

No bid may be withdrawn within 30 days from the date of the bid opening.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder at or after the regular Town Board meeting on September 8, 2021. In the case two or more responsible bidders submit identical bids as to price the town board may award the contract to any such bidder.

The right is reserved to reject any and all bids.

The attention of the bidders Is particularly called to the non-collusive bid certification, which must be provided, pursuant to Sec. 103-D of the General Municipal Law and that section 103-A of the General Municipal Law, is hereby considered to be part of any contract to purchase which may be entered into and proof of NYS Workers’ Compensation coverage is hereby considered to be part of any contract to purchase which may be entered into.

NOTICE OF RESOLUTION TO USE MACHINERY CAPITAL RESERVE FUNDS

FOR PURCHASE OF A CATERPILLAR INC. MODEL 420-07ST BACKHOE LOADER

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on August 4, 2021, at a recessed meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Cochecton, Sullivan County, New York, the Town Board adopted a resolution to authorize the use of Capital Reserve Funds, in an amount not to exceed $147,000, for the purchase of a Caterpillar Inc. Model 420-07ST Backhoe Loader.

It is hereby noted that this resolution is adopted subject to permissive referendum. Any petitions protesting against such resolution and requesting that it be submitted to the qualified electors of the Town for their approval or disapproval must be filed with the Town Clerk within 30 days of this publication.

On July 24, 2021 from 12:00PM to 4:00 PM. please come out and meet your Cochecton Volunteer Ambulance Corps Members.

Ambulance tours, blood pressure checks, Learn Stop-the-Bleed skills, practice giving chest compressions, and learn some simple first aid skills. There will be some demos. There will be refreshments .

Enjoy our park and meet your neighbors. If you have any questions this will be a great opportunity.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Cochecton, Sullivan County, NY will receive sealed bids for supplying the Town with No. 2 fuel oil, diesel fuel and regular gasoline, from August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2022 delivered on 48 hours notice.  Please use Journal of Commerce for Day of July 7th, 2021 for bids.

Bids will be accepted at the Office of the Town Clerk during regular business hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00am – 2:00pm at 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington, NY 12752; until 2:00pm on July 13, 2021, or they may be sent to P.O Box 295, Lake Huntington, NY 12752 and they will be publicly opened and read aloud at 7:30pm on July 14, 2021 at the regular Town Board Meeting..

The Cochecton Town Board will hold an Emergency Meeting on June 25, 2021 at 6:30 PM at the Cochecton Town Hall, 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington NY 12752. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the purchase of a new truck for the Highway Department.

2021 Clean-up

Town of Cochecton residents: June 12th and 13th 2021, from 9 AM – 2:45 PM.  Items may be brought to the Cochecton Town Hall, 116 CR 116, Lake Huntington, NY.

Acceptable items include: Household junk, Bulky waste (furniture, mattresses, carpets, etc.); Iron pipes must be cut to 4-foot lengths; Drums and tanks must be empty and cut open or crushed.; Paint or tar cans must be empty and dry; NO full or partially full cans of paint, NO commercial dumping.  NO household garbage, NO yard waste, leaves, stumps, roots, or rocks. NO HAZARDOUS WASTES: petroleum products, pesticides, or propane tanks.  NO Computers/monitors, Television sets (all display types).  NO Fluorescent Bulbs/Lamps.  The Town of Cochecton will be accepting 4 regular car and truck tires at no cost, cost will be $3.00 per tire after the 4th tire. No oversized tires are allowed.

This program is made possible by the Sullivan County Legislature along with the Division of Public Works and Solid Waste and the Town of Cochecton.
