The dog control officer is responsible for enforcing dog control laws in the town. He or she will assist with dog complaints as well as seize stray dogs.
If your dog is lost, please call the dog control officer with any information so they can assist with finding and returning your dog.
PLEASE NOTE: The dog control officer is ONLY responsible for DOGS. They are NOT responsible for any other animals. (bats, cats, chickens, horses, etc.).
Upon adoption of Local Law #3 of 2010, the Town is now responsible for licensing dogs. Effective January 1, 2011, the new fees for a dog license are:
Spayed / Neutered Dogs: $10 per year.
Proof of spaying or neutering is required.
Unspayed / Unneutered Dogs: $20 per year.
Proof of rabies vaccination is required for all dog licenses.
