TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF COCHECTON, NEW YORK
NOTICE TO EXCEED THE PROPERTY TAX LEVY LIMIT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2027
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Cochecton, Sullivan County, New York, will hold a Public Hearing regarding a proposed Local Law to override the property tax levy limit established pursuant to the New York State General Municipal Law section: 3-c.
The Public Hearing will be held on October 20, 2026, at 6:30 PM, at the Cochecton Town Hall, 74 Smales Road, Cochecton, New York.
The proposed Local Law was introduced at the Town Board’s September 23, 2026 Budget Meeting.
All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning the proposed Local Law.

Event Date: 11/14/2026 (Saturday) at 11 am.COCHECTON FIRE DISTRICT NOTICE OF PROPOSED 2027 BUDGET HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the proposed Budget of the COCHECTON FIRE DISTRICT, State of New York, for the year 2027, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the COCHECTON FIRE DISTRICT, for its consideration. A Public Hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at the Lake Huntington Fire House located at 70 County Road 116, Lake Huntington, NY. The Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing and permit any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same. A copy of the proposed budget is available on the town’s website; by contacting the Fire District Secretary via email at jfarrell3@hvc.rr.com; by calling (845) 932-8444 or at the Lake Huntington Fire House where it may be inspected by any interested person. ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Receipt of Bids: Separate sealed bids on forms prepared by the Engineer will be received by the Town of Cochecton, Town Clerk, 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington, NY 12752 until 10 AM on September 24, 2026 for the Town of Cochecton Lake Huntington Sewage Treatment Plant Sand Bed Replacement Project in accordance with Drawings, Specifications, and other Contract Documents prepared by Pitingaro & Doetsch Consulting Engineers P.C.
The project consists of the following:
Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10 AM on September 24, 2026, at the Town of Cochecton Town Hall, 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington, NY 12752.
Office of Pitingaro & Doetsch Consulting Engineers P.C., 20 Industrial Drive, Middletown, NY 10941 and may be obtained at Pitingaro & Doetsch Consulting Engineers P.C. upon payment of $50.00 per set in favor of Pitingaro & Doetsch Consulting Engineers P.C. If documents are requested by mail, provide your Federal Express/UPS number or add $35.00 per set. All checks shall be drawn payable to Pitingaro & Doetsch Consulting Engineers P.C. and mailed via first class mail to 20 Industrial Drive, Middletown, NY 10941—OR— these documents may be sent electronically for $25.00 upon an email request to Linda Kump at lkump@panddengineers.com. 24 Hour Notice Required For Printed Copies.
Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable form of Bid Guarantee in an amount equal to at least 5% of the amount of the Bid, payable to the Town of Cochecton as a guarantee that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract and file acceptable Performance and Payment Bonds within ten (10) days after the award of the Contract.

The Town of Cochecton hereinafter called the Owner, reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any formality or technicality in any Bid in the interest of the Owner.
STATEMENT OF NON-COLLUSION
Bidders are required to execute a non-collusion bidding certificate pursuant to Section 103d of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York.
Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements relating to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Segregated Facilities, Section 109, and Executive Order 11246. Bidders are also required to comply with the provisions of Sections 291-299 of the Executive Law of the State of New York and all other applicable laws and regulations.
The Town of Cochecton hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in regard to any Contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award.
