NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION
On Tuesday, December 9, 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Cochecton Fire District will take place
on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Lake Huntington
Fire House located at 70 County Route 116, Lake Huntington, NY for the purpose of electing one (1)
Commissioner, for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2030.
All residents of the Cochecton Fire District, who have resided in the district for a period of thirty days
prior to the election shall be eligible to vote.
Candidates for this office are required to file their names with the district secretary at least twenty days
before the date of the election. Please hand deliver to the firehouse or mail a letter of intent to James
Farrell, Secretary of the Board, Cochecton Fire District, PO Box 222, Lake Huntington, NY 12752, no
later than November 19, 2025.

TOWN OF COCHECTON NOTICE OF HEARING ON PRELIMINARY BUDGET
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the preliminary budget of the Town of Cochecton, Sullivan County, NY for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2026 has been completed and filed in the office of Town Clerk where it is available for inspection by any interested persons during the hours of 9AM to 2 PM M/T/T/F or by appointment.
FURTHER NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Board of said Town of Cochecton will meet and review said Preliminary Budget and hold a Public Hearing at the Cochecton Town Hall, 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington, NY at 6:30 PM on November 5, 2025 and at such hearing those in favor of or against any item therein contained will be heard.
Pursuant to Sec. 108 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of the following Town Officers are hereby specified as follows:

Trunk or Treat!

The CYC is hosting their annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at 10:30am for youth that reside in the Town of Cochecton! Join us in your favorite Halloween costume at the Town Hall parking lot to partake in the fun! Trunk or treaters must be pre-registered so our trunks have an accurate count!

On the day of the event, please meet by 10:15am at the pirate ship playground to sign in and get your bag for trunk or treating!

COCHECTON FIRE DISTRICT NOTICE OF PROPOSED 2026 BUDGET HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the proposed Budget of the COCHECTON FIRE DISTRICT, State of New York, for the year 2026, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the COCHECTON FIRE DISTRICT, for its consideration. A Public Hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at the Lake Huntington Fire House located at 70 County Road 116, Lake Huntington, NY. The Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing and permit any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same. Please take notice that the Town of Cochecton Planning Board, Sullivan County, New
York State will hold a public hearing at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at
the Town Hall located at 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington, New York for the purpose
of considering a Site Plan Approval and Issue a Special Permit for a proposed
campground on + 70 acre property upon certain lands identified as Town of Cochecton
Section 22 Block 1 Lot 6.1 in the Town consisting of 22 yurt tents, season summer use,
transient, together with a campground café and pool.
Please be advised that the project’s Application, Environmental Assessment Form, and
Site Map will be on file for review at the Town Hall located at 74 Smales Road, Lake
Huntington, NY 12752.
Interested parties are invited to attend and to give their comments.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Cochecton, Sullivan
County, NY will receive sealed bids for supplying the Town with No. 2 fuel oil, diesel
fuel and regular gasoline, from August 14, 2025, through July 31, 2026, delivered on 48
hours’ notice. Please use Journal of Commerce for Day of August 5 th , 2025, for bids.
Bids will be accepted at the Office of the Town Clerk during regular business hours
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00am – 2:00pm at 74 Smales Road,
Lake Huntington, NY 12752; until 2:00pm on August 12 th , 2025, or they may be sent to
P.O Box 295, Lake Huntington, NY 12752 and they will be publicly opened and read
aloud at 7:30pm on August 13 th , 2025 at the regular Town Board Meeting..
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to , Town of Cochecton, Town
Clerk Fuel Bid, PO Box 295, Lake Huntington, NY 12752 and must bear on the face
thereof the name and address of the bidder.
No bid may be withdrawn within 30 days from the date of the bid opening.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder on August 13 th , 2025. In
the case two or more responsible bidders submit identical bids as to price the Town
Board may award the contract to any such bidder.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids.
The attention of the bidders is particularly called to the non-collusive bid certification,
which must be provided, pursuant to Sec. 103-D of the General Municipal Law and that
section of Sec. 103-A of the General Municipal Law, is hereby considered to be part of
any contract to purchase which may be entered into.
