2024 Town Clean-up Weekend

Town of Cochecton residents: May 18th and 19th 2024, from 9 AM – 2:45 PM.  Items may be brought to the Old Town Hall, 116 CR 116, Lake Huntington, NY.

Acceptable items include Household junk, Bulky waste (furniture, mattresses, carpets, etc.); Iron pipes must be cut to 4-foot lengths; Drums and tanks must be empty and cut open or crushed.; Paint or tar cans must be empty and dry; NO full or partially full cans of paint, NO commercial dumping.  NO household garbage, NO yard waste, leaves, stumps, roots, or rocks. NO HAZARDOUS WASTES: petroleum products, pesticides, or propane tanks.  NO Computers/monitors, Television sets (all display types).  NO Fluorescent Bulbs/Lamps.  The Town of Cochecton will be accepting 4 regular car and truck tires at no cost, cost will be $3.00 per tire after the 4th tire. No oversized tires are allowed.

This program is made possible by the Sullivan County Legislature along with the Division of Public Works and Solid Waste and the Town of Cochecton.

May the fourth be with you! The CYC is getting their build on! Join us at the Cochecton Town Hall the morning of May 4th to build some Legos together. Each Cochecton Youth who attends will be able to take their project home. Sign ups for CY will be at the Cochecton town hall on April 18th from 6:30-7:00. Sign ups will close at 7:00pm on 4/18. Please contact Michelle 24 hours in advance if you cannot make it to sign ups.
Sign ups will be at the Top Floor of the Town Hall, as the bottom room is occupied.
*Please note that children will receive a Lego kit similar to the one they pick at sign ups.

Please TAKE NOTICE

That the Town Board of the Town of Cochecton, Sullivan County, NY will receive sealed bids for stone;  crusher run, red crusher run # 2’s, # 3’s, # 4’s, surge stone, PA # 8 or (equivalent) PA # 6 or (equivalent) and anti-skid.   All pricing shall be in US Tons F.O.B. including pick up at the plant, delivery and trucked to Town of Cochecton Highway Garage and delivery and trucked to various sites on Town of Cochecton Roads as directed by the Highway Superintendent.  Bids will be accepted at the Office of the Town Clerk during regular business hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington, NY  12752; until 2:00 p.m. on May 7th, 2024, or they may be sent to P.O. Box 295, Lake Huntington, NY  12752  – phone 845/932-8360 ext 11 and they will be publicly opened and read aloud at 7:30 p.m. on the 8th day of May 2024 at the regular Town Board Meeting.  Bids must bear on the face thereof the name and address of the bidder.  All bids shall be from June 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025.  No bid may be withdrawn within 30 days from the date of the bid opening.  The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder at 7:30 p.m. on the 8th day of May 2024 at the regular Town Board Meeting.  In the case two or more responsible bidders submit identical bids as to price the Town Board may award the contract to any such bidder.  The right is reserved to reject any, and all bids.  The attention of the bidders is particularly called to the non-collusive bid certification which must be provided, pursuant to Sec. 103-D of the General Municipal Law and to the hours and wages and supplements of Sec. 220 et seq. of the Labor Law and that section 103-A of the General Municipal Law and Section 220 et seq. of the Labor Law are hereby considered to be part of any contract to purchase which may be entered into.  For more information, please contact Highway Superintendent, Jeffrey Daub (845) 932-8737.  BY ORDER OF THE TOWN BOARD OF COCHECTON ; Dated 04/12/2024

The Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District is having their Spring
Fish Stocking Program. If you are interested in stocking your pond with bass, minnows,
sunfish, catfish or grass carp, call the Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District

PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM NOTICE

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT ON February 27, 2024, at 2PM  a special meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Cochecton, in the County of Sullivan, State of New York, adopted a resolution entitled:

“Resolution of the Town Board of the Town of Cochecton, New York, adopted February 27, 2024, authorizing the purchase of a 2024 Caterpillar Inc Model 308-07A Excavator for use by the Town Highway Department,” the purpose and effect thereof, being as follows:

FIRST:  AUTHORIZING the Town to purchase one 2024 Caterpillar Inc Model 308-07A (the “Equipment”) from H.O. PENN Machinery Company for the sum of One Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand and 00/100 Dollars($149,000.00)  .

SECOND:  DELEGATING to the Supervisor of the Town of Cochecton authority to purchase the Equipment using funds from the Town of Cochecton Machinery Capital Reserve Fund.

THIRD:  DETERMINING that the resolution is subject to permissive referendum.
