BUDGET

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the preliminary budget of the Town of Cochecton, Sullivan County, NY for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2024, has been completed and filed in the office of Town Clerk where it is available for inspection by any interested persons during the hours of 9:30AM to 3PM M/T/T/F or by appointment.

FURTHER NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Board of said Town of Cochecton will meet and review said Preliminary Budget and hold a Public Hearing at the Cochecton Town Hall, 74 Smales Road, Lake Huntington, NY at 7 PM on November 8, 2023, and at such hearing those in favor of or against any item therein contained will be heard.

Pursuant to Sec. 108 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of the following Town Officers are hereby specified as follows:

Town Council 4 @ $   5,185.33 each

LEGAL NOTICE.

Town of Cochecton Planning Board
Please take notice that the Town of Cochecton Planning Board, Sullivan County, New York State
will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on October 26. 2023 at the Town Hall located at 74
Smales Road, Lake Huntington, New York for the purpose of considering the Davidson
Subdivision submitted by owners Michael & Lila Davidson. The said property is identified by
tax map number 10.-2-50.1 located on State Route 52, Lake Huntington, New York. The project
consists of dividing the present property into two equal parcels. Interested parties are invited to
attend and to give their comments.

Peace, Love, & Pumpkins- at Bethel Woods
Please join the Cochecton Youth Commission for a night of Peace, Love, and Pumpkins at Bethel Woods on Sunday, October 15th, at 6:30 pm. This is a rain or shine event.
Wind through the garden trails of Bethel Woods and marvel at thousands of unique hand-carved jack-o-lanterns and glowing pumpkin art. Delight in displays featuring Woodstock festival icons, dinosaurs, mermaids, witches, and much more!
As always, this event is free for Cochecton Youth. Cost for adults is $21.25. Please bring exact cash only to signs ups.
Please Note: This is a walk-thru event, at a little over half a mile. Rain or Shine. Please wear comfortable shoes. There is a portion of the event that has a slight incline uphill.

Join us on Saturday October 28th, at 10am for a fun day of trick or treating and other activities for Cochecton Youth. This event is for Cochecton Youth only and all Cochecton Youth must be signed up in advance to participate.
****Sign ups for this event will be on Tuesday October 3rd, from 6:30-7pm at lower level town hall. If you cannot make sign ups, please contact Michelle at 570-419-8801 by 7pm on October 2nd.
Funded by the County of Sullivan and the New York State Office and Family Services through the Sullivan County Youth Bureau.

The Cochecton Youth Group is looking for volunteers in our community who would like to decorate a trunk and hand out treats during our fall event on October 28th at 10:00 AM.
This event is open to children who live in the Town of Cochecton and whom have pre-registered only; however, you do not need to have children participating to hand out goodies!
If you are interested in helping to make our event successful and would love to see our youth dressed up in their Halloween costumes please contact Heather Neidert at 845-796-6976.

Trip to Medieval Times on Saturday -11/4/23
Here ye hear ye, the Cochecton Youth will be traveling to the Castle of Lyndhurst on Saturday November 4th at 2pm. We will enjoy a four course meal for royalty that includes roasted chicken, garlic bread and sweet buttered corn (Vegetarian options are available upon request). While we dine we will be entertained by knights, squires, horses and falcons.
The castle is located at 149 Polito Ave Lyndhurst NJ 07071. The show lasts about 2 hours.
The cost for parents / guardians is $56.13. This includes tax and tip. Please bring exact cash only to sign ups.

The Preservation Society is pleased to announce that we are again holding our Coffee, Tea and History event on September24th at the Station beginning at 1:00 pm. The topic this year will focus on two ‘brothers” who served on opposite sides during the Civil War. Re-enactors James Richardson and Dennis Bernitt will show and narrate.
The event is free with refreshments available for purchase.

LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE TO BIDDERS
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Cochecton, Sullivan
County, NY will receive sealed bids for the delivered price for ice control sand to
the Town Highway Garage in Lake Huntington, New York, from September 1,
2023 through August 31, 2024, as required. The ice control sand must be natural
brown sand and must otherwise at minimum meet Sullivan County minimum
requirements, all as fully described in Bid Specifications available from the Town
of Cochecton Highway Superintendent and delivered to Cochecton Highway
Garage. Each bidder must present documentation of Sullivan County
specifications and analysis report on product to be delivered.
Bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on September 12, 2023 and they will be
opened at 7:30 p.m., September 13, 2023 at the regular Town Board meeting at
the Town Hall located at 74 Smales Rd., Lake Huntington, NY 12752.
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “sand bid” addressed to
Town Clerk, Town of Cochecton, PO Box 295, Lake Huntington, NY 12752 and
must bear on the face thereof the name and address or the bidder.
No bid may be withdrawn within 30 days from the date of the bid opening.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder at or after the
regular Town Board meeting on September 13, 2023. In the case two or more
responsible bidders submit identical bids as to price the town board may award
the contract to any such bidder.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids.
The attention of the bidders Is particularly called to the non-collusive bid
certification, which must be provided, pursuant to Sec. 103-D of the General
Municipal Law and that section 103-A of the General Municipal Law, is hereby
considered to be part of any contract to purchase which may be entered into and
proof of NYS Workers’ Compensation coverage is hereby considered to be part
of any contract to purchase which may be entered into.
